Stopping Mid-Breath

Have you ever stopped mid-breath after reading a text?

If yes, then I feel you. Deeply.

Three years ago, I received a text from my dad stating he had a mild heart attack. And at that moment, I felt like the wind was knocked out of me. Thankfully, he recovered well from triple bypass surgery and is a bit more mindful of his food choices.

But that event triggered a series of life-changing events for me.

I began searching the internet, reading books, watching documentaries, and talking to others who were going through a similar discovery journey.

I became a knowledge junkie and wanted to know more about:

  • Living a sustainable life
  • Having compassion for all living things
  • Engaging in a healthier lifestyle

I made small adjustments to my lifestyle, others took notice, and we began having deep lifestyle-related questions which encouraged me to complete a Master’s degree in Integrative and Functional Nutrition program.

I felt so empowered!

Learning about the simple, small, and holistic integrative changes we can make to increase our quality of life was invaluable, not only for me but also for sharing this information with my loved ones.

Why am I sharing this story with you?

Not everyone’s discovery journey may look like going back to school but I believe in giving back, whether it’s through volunteering, teaching, or donating.

The more we know, the more we can help ourselves and our loved ones increase their quality of life. And this could mean more time for you to spend with your loved ones. Or more energy to do things you are passionate about.

I want to share the tools and information that can help you live the best version of you.

Wellness is more than the prevention of disease. It is a focus on engaging the inner resources of each individual as an active and conscious participant in the maintenance of his or her own health.

I love data. In fact, most of my career has been in tech related jobs, but something changed in me a few years ago. My father had a heart attack which led him needing triple bypass surgery. This experience changed my life and I wanted to learn more about how food can heal our bodies.
